Homework #6: Anticipated Collection
At this point in time, my collection has been narrowed down from it’s original rainbow hues to a more cohesive color pallet of red, pink, purple, blue, and green. I continued to play with my fish motif, and am using it as a print and embellishment in several places. I also dove into my water marbling pattern, and developed an analogous colorway with several hues of pink and red.
I am really drawn to textures in garments, so I wanted to include a variety of them in this line up. I find the juxtaposition of different textures and weights to be very exciting, and I tried to mix fabrics in fun and unexpected ways. I also love the visual impact of a mix-matched outfit, and played with layering as well.
As I move forward, I want to continue to play with fabrication and embellishment, and decide where I want to drop in a little bit of sparkle and shine. I also want to work on portraying fabrics layered over each other to create varying sheer, water-like effects. I like the playfulness of my looks so far, and definitely feel that this collection will embody my personality once complete.
I also have been playing with different illustration styles, so stay tuned for that upcoming post.
